Publish in Dreamweaver

  1. In Dreamweaver, go to the Site menu, and select Manage Sites
  2. Select New to create a new connection
  3. Change Local Site Folder to a local folder saved to your hard drive.
    Default settings name this folder "Unnamed Site," but you can select an existing folder or create a new folder by clicking on the folder icon (browse button)

  4. From the navigation pane to the left, select Servers
  5. Click on the "+" icon to add a new server connection

  6. For Server Name, enter a name for the new connection
  7. Change Connect Using field to SFTP
  8. Confirm Port is set to 22
  9. Enter in the SFTP Address field
  10. Enter the NetID and Password for the site connection
    The password is automatically saved, so you must manually change it when your NetID account password changes
  11. To connect your Netfile account:
    1. For Root Directory, enter the folder path to your web site.
      Users can find their web site folder path when they search for the web site NetID at
      Click on Attribute list


      Use the entry labelled ndWWWPath (A Ctrl-F or Command-F search for "ndWWWPath' will reduce the time it takes to locate this path)


      NOTE: The path is case sensitive!
    2. The Web URL will autopopulate to correspond with what was entered for Root Directory
  12. Click on Test to test the connection configuration prior to saving. If connection is successful, click Save and exit Manage Connections by clicking Close
    If prompted, Windows users should choose "Allow" Dreamweaver access through the Windows Firewall
